Nocardia

Nocardia is in bacteria subject.

Genus of gram-positive bacteria that form a mycelium that may fragment into rod or coccoid shaped cells. They are very common saprophytes in soil but some are opportunistic pathogens of humans, causing nocardiosis.

This is characterised by abscesses, particularly of the jaw, which if untreated may invade the surrounding bone.
