canine ehrlichiosis

A fatal disease of dogs in Asia, Africa, and the U.S. Caused by Ehrlichia canis, transmitted by the tick Rhipicephalus sanguineus, and characterised by haemorrhage, pancytopenia, and emaciation.

Synonym: tropical canine pancytopenia.
