dihydrofolate reductase

dihydrofolate reductase is in enzyme subject.

An enzyme involved in the biosynthesis of folic acid coenzymes, that transfers hydrogen from NADP to dihydrofolate, yielding tetrahydrofolic acid. Inhibitors can be used as antimicrobial and anticancer drugs. Standard source is liver and the enzyme is used to assay dihydrofolate.
